Board Meeting are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, while the Dinner Meeting are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month with the exception of December due to the Holiday. Our meetings are open to everyone including non-members. Each month at our Dinner Meeting we have a guest speaker who provides information about law enforcement or information important to the community. Our programs have been so successful that each month our meeting are attended by 50% of our membership.
Community Support
The Morongo Basin Chapter #71 in addition to trying to help promote a better understanding between law enforcement and the communities they service, we also support children's projects in the area. Our Chapter currently is a sponsor of the Law Enforcement Explorer Program at the San Bernardino Sheriffs Morongo Basin Station.
We also sponsor the Boys and Girls Clubs in Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms along with the Kids Club in Joshua Tree.
The Morongo Basin Chapter each year also sponsors a "Law Enforcement Officer of the Year" awards presentation in which one law enforcement officer from each of the six law enforcement agencies in the Morongo Basin Area are honored.
We have also honored citizens in our community for acts of heroism while risking their lives to save another or have come to the aid of a law enforcement officer.
Newsletter
Since our chapter has been founded we have not only tried to be make our chapter a vital member of our community, but also fun and informative. One of the things our chapter does is send out a newsletter each month to all of our members. Our newsletter not only contains information from the Chapter President, Vice-President and Secretary, but it also contains information about Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of Duty each month; Law Enforcement Humor consisting of those unusual and funny things that happen to law enforcement officers and Law Enforcement News around the Nation, including crimes and changes in laws, which are of interest. Our newsletter has been so popular that we receive requests for the newsletter from other Footprinter members and chapters across the nation. Our Chapter continues to work to make our chapter better and more active in the community.

To be eligible, a person must be sympathetic to law enforcement, and be over 21 years of age, of good moral character, reside within the jurisdiction of this chapter, and support the laws and Constitution of the United States.
